On Thursday, September 16th, Town of Rantoul Chairman Mertz signed a mutual agreement to terminate garbage and recycling service with Waste Management effective Thursday, September 30th. Last evening, Tuesday, September 22nd, at a special Town Board meeting, the Town of Rantoul Board unanimously agreed to approve a new contract with GFL Environmental for garbage/recycling effective on October 1st. In the transition to GFL, we will be using the same containers that you currently have. They will eventually be replaced with one 90/95 gallon garbage and one 90/95 gallon recycling container. We will no longer have multiple size options. The current pickup schedule will remain the same.
